JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Interpreting blueprints and work instructions.
2. Advanced knowledge of CNC operating control.
3. The CNC set-up person receives job instructions including a CNC program, tool list, job routing, part drawings and in-process quality instructions, etc. from the Programmer and follows the instructions to set up the job.
4. By usage of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial calipers, dial indicators, the set-up person shall inspect 1st piece to meet all blueprint requirements and summit to inspection lab for validation.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
The CNC set-up person begins by locating the appropriate tool holders, cutting tools and/or fixtures and loads them into the machine. The CNC set-up person loads the CNC program into the machine control and enters tool geometries and offsets, etc “NOTE: THE SET-UP PERSON CAN NOT MAKE MODIFICATIONS TO PROGRAMS. The CNC set-up person runs the program, performs measurements and makes all adjustments necessary and so that the product meets customer specifications, once the set up person has done the above, he or she submits the part to Inspection Lab for Approval of CNC program, set up and first piece. Once the first piece has been approved The CNC set-up person runs the job or instructs an Operator as to how to run the job.
