Burnham Design is looking for a full time Assistant to join our team.
We are a small, busy studio and therefore the ideal candidate is a self starter and comfortable in a fast - paced environment. Our goal is to find someone who is interested in a career in Interior Design, who will stay and grow with the company.
Duties include but not limited to:
- autoCAD drafting; specifically detailed furniture plans and interior elevations
- writing and entering specifications for construction projects
- supporting Senior Designers on site visits, writing site notes
- supporting Junior Designers with the invoicing/purchasing/tracking process
The Design Assistant will work both in and outside the office and some physical work (such as moving small furniture, carrying accessories, and running errands) will sometimes be required.
Requirements:
- excellent CAD skills
- 1-2 years experience in interiors/construction
- organized, detail-oriented (we cannot stress this enough)
- confident communicating with vendors, clients, contractors and team members
- a team player mentality
- reliable transportation
- local to Los Angeles
- experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Filemaker a huge plus
- a sense of style and a sense of humor are always appreciated
