Job Description:

The Law Office of Andres Bustamante is looking for a paralegal to join our USCIS and EOIR department. You will report directly to Attorney Andres Bustamante. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and case management skills. We're looking for someone with knowledge of EOIR and USCIS filings, such as I-130, I-485, VAWA, N-400, N-600, I-131, I-589, I-765, I-929, I-290B, and I-601. This paralegal will participate in all aspects of our cases, including assisting in the management of client relationships, case review, analysis, preparation and filing of applications and petitions.

Position Overview:

The Immigration Law Office Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys and clients in matters related to immigration law. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and be bilingual, demonstrating proficiency in English and Spanish, as well as a deep understanding of immigration processes, legal research, and client communication.

Responsibilities

Case Management:

Manage and maintain immigration case files, ensuring all necessary documents are collected, organized, and up-to-date.

Assist in preparing and filing various immigration applications, petitions, and forms.

Monitor case progress and deadlines to ensure timely submission and compliance with immigration regulations.

Legal Research:

Conduct thorough legal research on immigration laws, policies, and precedents to support attorneys in case preparation.

Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and procedures to provide accurate and current information to the legal team.

Client Communication:

Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish to gather required information and documents for their cases.

Provide updates on case status, answer client inquiries, and offer support and guidance throughout the immigration process.

Drafting Legal Documents:

Assist in drafting various legal documents, including affidavits, petitions, and letters, in both English and Spanish.

Prepare and assemble supporting evidence and documentation for immigration submissions.

Collaboration:

Work closely with attorneys, government agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate the immigration process.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and effective case management.

Recordkeeping and Compliance:

Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, case developments, and correspondence.

Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all aspects of immigration case management.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in an immigration law office/firm.

Proficient knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.

Fluency in both English and Spanish.

Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with case management software and legal research tools.

Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $20-$30/hr

Pay range may be exceeded based on experience on a case-by-case basis.
