Employment Law Associate Attorney (Plaintiffs’ Side)

Location: Downtown Los Angeles (hybrid remote/in office schedule available); Also a Position in Pasadena.

Compensation: Highly competitive salary (expected range $110k–$175k depending on experience), includes discretionary bonuses, and percentage fee sharing on contingency recoveries.

Responsibilities:

Discovery & case development: Draft and respond to discovery requests; conduct witness interviews; coordinate e discovery and document review.

Motion practice: Prepare and argue motions, including demurrers, motions to strike, and oppositions to summary judgment (MSJ). Research and brief complex employment law issues.

Court appearances: Appear at hearings, case management conferences and mandatory settlement conferences. Advocate persuasively before courts and arbitrators.

Depositions: Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, HR personnel and experts. Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.

Trial preparation & trial: Assist partners with jury instructions, pre trial motions, exhibit preparation, and witness outlines. Participate in trial as second chair or lead counsel depending on experience.

Client communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, explain case developments, and provide candid legal advice.

Qualifications:

J.D. degree and active California bar membership in good standing.

5–15 years of employment litigation experience (plaintiff or defense). Significant experience with discovery, law and motion, depositions and trial preparation is essential.

Strong research, writing and oral advocacy skills; ability to manage cases autonomously.
