Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Warehouse Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe handling of materials. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling: Sort, move, and store recyclable materials, ensuring proper classification of materials.
Loading/Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading, ensuring items are handled carefully and safely.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate basic warehouse machinery such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or conveyors (if trained and certified).
Quality Control: Inspect recyclable materials for contamination or non-recyclable items, ensuring only clean materials are processed.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of materials processed and assist with stocktaking.
Waste Disposal: Ensure that non-recyclable or hazardous materials are disposed of properly according to company guidelines.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in the warehouse and recycling area.
General Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean and organized by sweeping floors, taking out trash, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial setting is a plus.
Ability to lift at least 30 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is a plus.
Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
