Forklift Operator $22.50/hr. (1) 2nd Shift – from 3:00PM – 11:30PM but may be 3:00 PM- 3:00 AM; must be available for OT depending on business needs. Bale pack experience preferred. Job description attached.
What is my purpose?
SUMMARY
The Forklift Driver is responsible for operating the forklift in a safe manner. Move and remove finished goods or materials from machines and/or conveyor lines. Facilitates production goods to machine operators. Receives material with and without pallets (Bale Pack).
What am I responsible for?
JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE
· Operates forklift in a safe manner.
· Completes and documents daily forklift inspection before and after each shift.
· Reports any damages or required maintenance work orders to supervisor as needed for repairs.
· Delivers appropriate stock to machines before the start of the run and during the shift
· Removes all finish goods from machines and conveyor lines.
· Maintains orderly, neat, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
· Completes all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
· Records all stock material on computer and delivery receipt.
· Maximizes the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery safely at available capacity and speed.
· Adheres to daily production schedule.
· Provides pallet counts, dimensions and weights as requested.
· Ensures all product is properly stacked and stored.
· Assists other forklift operators as needed.
· Secures loaded materials for transportation.
· Reports any arising issues immediately to Supervisor.
· Photographs all outside carrier pick-ups for record keeping.
· Scans merchandise when being moved from one location to another.
· Changes propane tanks when needed.
· Ensures the compliance of safety guidelines.
· Wears the proper safety equipment for the environment including safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
· Maneuvers materials with and without pallets with accuracy and efficiency.
· Manages housekeeping by ensuring all scrap materials are taken to the baler as well as cleanliness and straightness of on hand stock and materials.
· Performs other related duties as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
High School diploma/GED required
Must have ability to see and differential color
Use of computer skills
Strong organizational & communication skills: Writing, Speaking, Reading
Ability to recommend and implement customer solutions to drive top and bottom-line improvement.
Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast-paced work environment.
Valid Driver's License with DMV evidence of good driving record.
· Interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple duties in a rapidly changing environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Capable to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
1. Able to operate a sit-down propane forklift
2. Able to distinguish various paper flutes and grades
3. Able to type on a keyboard with speed and accuracy
4. Read tape measure with speed and accuracy
5. Calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate
6. Apply concepts of high school math
7. Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
8. Product layouts and production specifications.
9. Meet quality standards
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time go up/down step ladders, stairs and elevating platforms. The employee frequently is required to use their hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to perform repetitive motions and must have strong finger dexterity. Employee must be able to sit for extended period of time.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds utilizing the buddy system. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close, distance, peripheral and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee works around powered industrial trucks, heavy objects, conveyor systems, and machines including highly energized systems such as pneumatic and electrical systems. The employee works with chemicals, high heat items, and sharp objects. The employee uses pneumatic systems including air and water hoses. The employee must be able to adapt to a changing work environment.
