As my work includes a lot of listening and emotional labor, I prefer to hire someone who is mindful of conversational balance and knows how to prioritize the needs of the employer while working.
Ideal shifts might be Tuesdays before 2 PM or daytime Sundays.
It is an absolute requirement that you be reliable and punctual. It is preferred that you be a good conversationalist and socially aware enough to conduct yourself with kindness and professionalism.
We will have a phone interview (unpaid) and a basic meet-and-greet at a local coffee shop for an in person interview (paid) before I hire you for the job.
Personality fit is essential as the labor is so light for this job—it’s basically adult babysitting for a person who’s too ADD to do home chores unsupervised. If you’re the sort of personality that’s a “mom friend” or go-to emotional support in your friend group, you have the temperament I’m seeking.
Boundaries are important to me. I am respectful, courteous, never inappropriate and this is a professional role. I will never harass you or disrespect you, and I expect the same from whomever I hire on.
Entry level fine. No prior experience necessary. Perhaps a good fit for a current college student or as a side hustle for someone in food service.
While I am happy to help a bright young candidate find other employment opportunities or advise them in their career path, there is little room to grow in this specific role. There may be some networking benefit or resume-building help due to the prominence of my professional work.
