Our back office medical assistant’s position requires a candidate with an outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills. Candidate must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
Medical Office Receptionist Job Duties:
Monitors and manages the flow of patients to maximize physician’s time, reduce delays, and facilitate a positive patient experience
Takes initial patient history accurately and documents vital signs in the patient’s medical record
Prepare the patient and the room for examination or procedure by the physician
Assists the physician with examinations and procedures. Performs phlebotomy and necessary laboratory testing; prepares specimens and orders outside laboratory testing. Performs radiological exams and EKG procedures as ordered by the physician
Sanitize patient’s room after visits and procedures. Scrubs, rinses, and place used instruments in disinfectant tray after each patient. Properly autoclaves instruments, or prepares them to be autoclave at the hospital
Input prescriptions and handle physician’s call back to patients test results as directed
Monitors and maintain equipment in good working order. Maintain medical stock, drug and medical supply inventory including to obtain PO orders
Completes all tasks and documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
One year of experience working in a physician’s office
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations
Current medical assistant certification through one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Pay Range: $24.00 - $28.00 hourly
