Caregiver needed for a 96 year-old woman.
We need you to be either registered with IHSS or be able to register for them and we will guide you on how to do that. It pays $18 an hour. We have 20 to 40 paid hours available. And you can live in or out. We have a partly furnished room available that would require an extra 15 hours a week to pay for the room. Some of the details are below. Elderly lady has a free room to offer in a nice home in a nice area in exchange for caregiving.
The room is partly furnished and has a shared bathroom with street parking. The room has a small fridge and a microwave. You will need to bring your own bed.
The 96 year old non-ambulatory woman needs about 5 hours of care 3 days a week. Bathing is done by a nurse that comes in twice weekly. Note this post is being modified in terms of the hours and days of the week. Our five year long Caregiver has also given notice so we have a position available that can be paid anywhere from 20 to 40 hours a week for $18 an hour in addition to the room for 15 hours a week
She needs be taken out of bed between 8-9 am after her wet diaper is changed. She has her blood pressure taken and is given breakfast followed by medication. Her room is straightened up and a load of laundry run.
She will need another meal a few hours later and blood pressure taken. She uses a urinal during the day that will need to be emptied and she needs to be placed on the toilet several times a week to defecate.
She will need dinner and later, between 8-9 pm she needs blood pressure taken, medications, a fresh diaper and put to bed and given water and oxygen for the night.
She has a little dog that sometimes needs to be picked up after. There are other caregivers living on site. The room that you live in is worth $900 a month and the room will be changed to the room next to it after one of the other caregivers vacates.
Please tell me why you would be a great caregiver for my grandmother and tell me whether you would like full-time part-time live-in or live out.
