Job Title: Dishwasher/Steward
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Dishwasher/
Steward. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and
organization of our kitchen. This position ensures that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen
equipment are cleaned and stored properly, contributing directly to our efficient kitchen
operations and overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Steward:
- Organize and store all food items, including produce, fresh meat & fish, dry goods and
cleaning supplies.
- Making sure to rotate with currant inventory.
- Dishwashing:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashing
machines and/or by hand.
- Ensure all items are cleaned thoroughly and meet health and safety standards.
- Cleaning Duties:
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including floors, counters, walls, ovens & kitchen
exhaust hood.
- Empty trash bins regularly and dispose of waste according to company protocols.
- Breaking down boxes for recycling.
- Empty food recycling containers.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure all dishwashing equipment is operated and maintained in a safe, clean, and efficient
manner.
- Report any mechanical problems to the maintenance team immediately.
Job Requirements:
- Physical Stamina:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift bulky items for extended periods, up to 50 lb.
- Attention to Detail:
- Keep a keen eye for cleanliness and sanitation.
- Communication Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate and work within a team environment.
- Availability:
- Flexible to work daytime hours, Monday to Friday. Enjoy evenings and weekends off!
Education and Experience:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or similar fast-paced environment is preferred but not
required.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
