The Mermaid in Little Tokyo is looking for an experienced bartender to train into a shift lead position.
We are a small but mighty bar team in Little Tokyo, looking to add to our bar team. We are open nightly until 2am and have a lot of great reoccurring weekly programming. Our cocktail menu is tropical and fun, and our food is delicious. We have a community of loyal regulars, and are always looking to make more. We'd love to bring someone on who knows how to relate to guests, communicate with guests and coworkers, and has that bartenders sense of urgency.
Our shift leads work directly with hands on managers to help run the day to day and create a smooth working environment for our team. Shift leads work with management on the following: day to day communications between team and management, assisting in the training of new team members when necessary, and are solution oriented and adaptable to responding to the needs of team members and clientele.
Shift leads must be available to work weekends, and are able to close a majority of the week to set up the openers for success. The schedule is 4 days per week, 6-8 hour shifts (day dependent).
-Must have over 3 years experience working in a fast paced neighborhood bar environment with shift lead or management experience
-Knowledge of classic cocktails and specs, and ability to learn our specs quickly
-Must be able to work until 3am
-Must be available to work weekends
-Can work autonomously as well as part of a team
-Good communicator, knows when to ask for help
-Very aware of their environment and surroundings, including being aware of patrons that are inside the building
-Certifications required or required to get once employed: RBS, Sexual harassment and food handlers certification
