Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, efficient, and food safety-conscious Chicken Processor to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for cleaning, prepping, cooking, chopping, and weighing between 300–500 lbs of raw chicken breast each shift. This role is mission-driven, supporting our efforts to provide high-quality, nutritious meals to unhoused individuals in South Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and trim raw chicken breast to company standards.

Cook chicken to appropriate internal temperatures following food safety guidelines.

Chop and portion cooked chicken precisely by weight into labeled bins.

Track and document all cooking and cooling temperatures on approved temperature logs.

Maintain an organized, sanitary workstation, following all food safety and HACCP protocols.

Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens and food processors.

Use knives with precision and consistency (knife skills will be tested during the interview).

Report any equipment issues or food safety concerns to leadership immediately.

Ensure timely completion of prep work within your shift window.

Work with urgency, care, and attention to detail.

Requirements:

Proficient knife skills — ability to debone, dice, and chop quickly and safely.

Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.

Understanding of food safety, cross-contamination, temperature control, and proper sanitation.

Punctuality and accountability are a must — your role directly impacts our mission.

Strong communication skills and a willingness to work with integrity and respect for the community we serve.

Must wear proper PPE and follow glove, handwashing, and face hygiene protocols at all times.

Must be comfortable standing, lifting, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in bulk food prep, catering, or institutional kitchens.

Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven food service is a plus.

ServSafe or other food handler certification (or willingness to obtain).

Our Mission:

We believe food is dignity. Every meal we prepare is made with intention and care for the unhoused neighbors we serve. If you're looking for purposeful work and want to be part of a team that shows up with integrity, strength, and compassion, we’d love to meet you.

If interested, please reply to this ad with your resume and a short message about your experience. Thanks!
