Sr. Data Report Analyst - R&O Managment

The Sr. Data Report Analyst works independently to support high-level measurement and reporting needs of various patient care quality, safety, and efficiency improvement initiatives of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and supports the quality and efficiency reporting needs through the use of general analytics and statistically-based analytics.In this role, you will work directly with stakeholders and collaboratively within work groups as required. This position works closely with clinical and administrative leadership, as well as designated Hospital Operations staff and leadership, Performance Improvement staff and leadership, and other personnel throughout the medical center. In addition, the Sr. Data Report Analyst works closely with other members of the Healthcare Analytics and Model Team as well as other teams within the department.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Works directly with stakeholders to develop specifications to meet requested analytic and reporting needs.

Works independently to implement specifications by identifying data requirements and data sources, running data analyses, and producing reports.

Works independently to manage data sets, validate data integrity, and audit data.

Works independently to analyze and document business processes, and facilitate improvement to ensure the production and capture of data elements meeting desired standards of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and availability. Documents all activities as required.

Works closely with clinical and administrative staff and leadership, performance improvement staff and leadership, report-writers, staff in Resource & Outcomes Management, and other personnel throughout the medical center in the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities.

Directs and coordinates the process of IBIRI translational informatics software platform renewal with other Cedars Sinai organizational units.

Attends departmental and other meetings as required.

Department Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with key stakeholders to develop processes and procedures for the CORE system to maximize data quality and provide optimal metrics to leadership, ensuring data security, privacy and compliance across the entire data life cycle.

Develops and maintains the IBIRI Data Management Plan and establishes research methods, workflows, and analytical procedures for national reference for IBD data.

Establishes IBD Enterprise data standards including: data schemas, metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, and domain specific ontologies that will facilitate and simplify the process of discovery, evaluation and reuse of clinical and research across the IBD Enterprise.

Leads the IBIRI database operations team and leads IBIRI interface with EIS to manage the 3 phase roll-out of the IBIRI informatics system and plan and direct future enhancements

Manages application implementation and system customizations to assist users of the IBD informatics platform.

Works with local, national and international academic and industry collaborators to develop research protocols and SOPs to conduct novel translational research, monitoring trends applicable to the IBD program.

Provides education and training to staff members working on translational research projects to ensure compliance with internal and national guidelines, as well as regulatory compliance including IRB protocol.

Works with investigators in study project planning and evaluation of data and trial needs.

Performs computational analysis on healthcare and omic data, including the application of descriptive, statistical, and machine learning methods.

Using software and data engineering best practices, processes, cleans, and stores omic level data for use and re-use across the IBD Enterprise, developing computational pipelines to assist in the application of novel research methods

Educational Requirements:

Master's degree in appropriate field highly desirable (such as Public Health, Hospital Administration, Healthcare Informatics, Biostatistics)

The absence of a Master’s degree would need to be compensated for by more extensive experience, such as listed below, and a Bachelor’s degree. (Coursework or background in statistics desirable.)

Experience:

Three (3) years prior work experience functioning in the role of a data analyst and/or business analyst, including facilitation of performance improvement projects and/or quantitative analysis/reporting of quality and efficiency measurements. Experience in acute health care delivery setting preferred.

Excellent computer competency is required, including working knowledge of spreadsheets, presentation development, word processing, e-mail, and browsers.

Knowledgeable in analytic business intelligence tools such as SAS, SPSS, Crystal, Hyperion Intelligence, Business Objects, and Cognos desirable.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem-solving skills and persistence to solve difficult situations.

Able to be flexible and adaptable, ability to work in teams, ability to work independently, ability to follow directions.

Ability to manage completion of multiple tasks within specified timeframes

Ability to lead projects and work independently with customers.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand during laboratory procedures and benchwork

Able to perform moderate lifting

Able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time

Able to exercise physical ability and perspective acuity to satisfactorily perform essential job functions
