Join us and experience a career of unmatched challenges andprofound rewards.You willoversee and support our Cancer Registry team that covers Ronald Reagan MedicalCenter and Santa Monica Hospital, as well as all surgical and ambulatory healthareas. This will involve the timely and accurate abstraction of data fromclinical records for reportable and non-reportable cancers. You will alsodevelop and support registry follow-up services and recruit/develop CTR staff.You will:

Identify, recruit, train, manage, and motivate staff

Plan, prioritize, and use effective time management

Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental budgets

Drive optimization projects to enhance team performance

Report cancer data to the state according to mandated timeframes

Review case finding resources

Act as a resource on abstracting and reportability of cases

Provide accurate cancer data to the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Program for grant support

Help design and analyze cancer data research requests

Related Bachelor's degree - Master's preferred

Five or more years of experience in leading and managing a large disease registry team

Computer proficiency with CNEXT, EPIC, and Microsoft Office

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills

Knowledge of the American College of Surgeon standards, California Cancer Registry, and SEER standards

Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, and disease processes

Detailed knowledge of ICD-0 coding classification scheme

Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritizing skills

Detailed knowledge of laws, rules and regulations affecting the confidentiality of medical information

Background with Lean concepts and workflow automation preferred

CTR Certification preferred
