Pomeroy is currently looking for a DevOps Engineer. This position is a contract to hire opportunity with client a growing company in the financial industry. Looking for candidates who innovative and motivated. The main responsibility of this role is automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment of applications through non-production systems. The position primarily works onsite.This position requires hands-on administration and development of tools and applications on Microsoft product platforms, working closely with IT Operations, Application Development, Cybersecurity and Quality Assurance teams.
Position Summary:The Cybersecurity, Business Continuity Planning and QA Group provides governance services in collaboration with IT and Investment Operations. Our mission is empowering our end users to make the best, timely decisions and actions in the investment lifecycle while providing governance solutions rooted in industry best-practices for infrastructure, data and application development. The DevOps Engineer is part of the Quality Assurance team in the Business Continuity and Cybersecurity group and is responsible for the automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment of applications through non-production systems. This position requires hands-on administration and development of tools and applications on Microsoft product platforms, working closely with IT Operations, Application Development, Cybersecurity and Quality Assurance teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced developer or DevOps engineer who is passionate about engineering velocity and automation with prior configuration and release experience for large-scale distributed systems. A strong commitment to organization, technical excellence and teamwork will be required. Essential Duties:· Design and develop quality code to increase build automation and service reliability· Function as the primary contact for non-production configuration and release management processes and automation· Coordinate updates to non-production systems as part of scheduled application releases and emergency releases· Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability and performance· Create and maintain detailed software and systems specifications· Perform a wide variety of tasks in software maintenance and operational support of platform technologies and systems Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience and Microsoft certifications, e.g. MCSE
- 5+ years of coding and development experience preferably in Visual Studio/.NET and C# environments
- 3+ years of experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery platforms
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, System Administrator or Configuration Management role
- Cloud computing certification in AWS or Azure
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and communicate across teams
- Reliability, accountability and the ability to work independently
- 7+ years of coding and development experience
- 7+ years of experience with enterprise-class server administration
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code
- Experience with enterprise data center operations, practices, procedures and remote administration is a plus
- Experience in cyber security, disaster recovery and business continuity processes is a plus
