Lucky Duck Swim School in Gardena, CA is looking for swim instructors to join our team. We are located on 2421 W. Marine Ave. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and reliable.Summary: Instruct students on water safety and proper swimming techniques based on thorough knowledge of the School curriculum. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides swim instruction based on the Swim School curriculum. Training will be provided. Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents. Makes rescues and administers first aid when necessary. Teaches all swimming levels to all ages. Training will be provided. Evaluates students’ progress and completes required paperwork in a timely manner. Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills. Uses problem solving/creative thinking skills to identify and resolve swim challenges that students encounter. Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues, reports issues to management as appropriate. Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment. Places and removes lane lines. Reports accidents and incidents to management. Completes required documentation and paperwork. Occasionally performs light cleaning duties such as deck sweeping, trash removal etc. Occasionally required to attend in-service training outside of regular working hours. Qualifications: Someone who loves the water, loves swimming, and enjoys being around kids Lifeguard certified preferred. Min 6 months swim teaching experience OR at least 1 year competitive swimming experience Caring and compassion for children and adults Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
