California, Los angeles

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for charismatic immersive theater/improv performers and outdoor educators to join Bewilder’s after school program. As instructors, you’ll welcome students into the world of Bewilder where they’ll learn about LA’s natural history, native species, weather patterns, and more.

We’ve partnered with Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (https://www.caminonuevo.org/) (CNCA) to provide this unique after school program for kindergarteners through 8th graders. We blend art, games, and storytelling into an educational experience, and we’ll be organizing outdoor field trips.

Each Bewilder after school session is an hour long, with two instructors and 10-15 students within each grade series (K-2, 3-5, 6-8). The program takes place in person, either inside a classroom or outside on campus at one of CNCA’s five campuses (exact locations below).

Schedules are subject to change, but the after school team must be available in-person Mondays through Thursdays from 2:30pm to 5pm, and for a day-long in-person team training, timing TBD. The time commitment is 15 hours a week. The deadline to apply for this role is EOD September 11, 2024.

Key Program Dates

Candidates must be available for the following dates, and ideally can participate through June 2024. We do welcome candidates who are only available for the fall semester (10/7-12/8). We’d obviously love to work with you for longer, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

- Staff training (in-person): tentatively Wednesday, October 4th, 2024 · 9am - 4p (subject to change)

- Fall semester program dates (10/7 - 12/8, subject to change): Monday through Thursday · 2:30pm - 5pm

- Spring semester program dates (1/27-4/25, subject to change) Monday through Thursday · 2:30pm - 5pm

- Weekly team meetings: Virtual, timing TBD

- Winter semester holidays (no classes):

- 10/24 - Staff Development Day

- 11/11 - Veterans Day

- 11/25-11/29 - Thanksgiving

Mondays: CNCA Kayne Siart - 3400 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90020
