We are a small independent tutoring company founded by classroom teachers, with offices in Culver City and Manhattan Beach. We are hiring at both locations, part-time to start immediately, with the potential for benefits for a part-time position that reaches 30 hours per week, or to go full-time in the next school year.
We need a teacher with classroom experience in English or history at the middle or high school level. Skill set needs to include strategies for teaching reading comprehension for the transition to high school, essay writing including literary analysis and MLA-style research papers, timed writings such as those in AP English or history, and engagement with books!
We serve 4th-12th graders, so this is for you if you are an experienced middle or high school teacher. You would be working collaboratively on a small, highly professional team including the owner/CEO. The hours are consistent and the environment is supportive. We work in-person at our centers in a dynamic group setting but with opportunity to do one-on-one and very small group instruction. There is a strong feeling of community and also a great chance to get to know students very well over a period of years.
