Transportation General Manager, chief operating officer COO who will help to create national transportation company, and will oversees and coordinates the movement of goods or people, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation operations, manage staff, plan routes, track shipments, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and other relevant laws, budget management, contract negotiations, and the development of transportation policies. Core Responsibilities:
Planning and Coordination:
Developing and implementing transportation strategies, scheduling routes, and coordinating shipments.
Staff Management:
Overseeing drivers, dispatchers, and other transportation personnel, ensuring proper training and adherence to procedures.
Logistics:
Managing the movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage, and optimizing routes for efficiency.
Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to safety regulations, transportation laws, and company policies.
Budget Management:
Developing and managing transportation budgets, monitoring costs, and identifying areas for cost reduction.
Performance Monitoring:
Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as on-time delivery, fuel consumption, and accident rates, and making adjustments as needed.
Fleet Management:
Overseeing the maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles, ensuring their roadworthiness and safety.
Communication:
Maintaining clear communication with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders, and resolving any issues or complaints.
Skills and Qualifications:
Leadership and Management:
Ability to motivate and guide a team of transportation professionals.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management:
Understanding of the principles and practices of logistics and supply chain operations.
