Business Development Director for Packaging Solutions

We’re looking for a Business Development Director for Packaging Solutions to join our team in our Los Angeles or Florida location.

Position entails travel, attending trade shows and directing corporate presence at trade shows. You will fit our standard products to specific customer requirements. You will also interface between the customer’s special needs and our engineering team to provide custom machines built to specifications. This is a very high-level position reporting directly to the CEO and its major shareholder of the corporation. Please be prepared to discuss your experience in the area of acquisition evaluation and integration or at the very least your willingness to learn this particular skill set.

Position Responsibilities

1. Prepare an annual sales plan for all territories covered. Analyze sales statistics to promote sales; review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, and price schedules.

2. Advise company on distribution opportunities and relationships.

3. Responsible for employee development. Work with subordinates to create individual performance expectations; provide ongoing feedback regarding progress toward established goals and track progress; provide employee coaching and training; recommend outside training opportunities. And methods.

4. Work with and through channel partners or directly with customers to secure and maintain a favored position. Handle sales situations personally emphasizing an ability to lead by example.

5. Set sales quotas by product line and work with them to achieve meeting of goals and be accountable for achieving.

6. Maintain backup and communications with representatives in the areas of application

engineering, product service, quotations, promotions, and problems that may arise.

7. Work together with inside sales and engineering personnel to provide proposals for equipment that maximizes our chances of securing profitable orders.

8. Help organize and take part in company sponsored sales meetings.

10. Must be aware of and sensitive to international variances in cultures and legal issues pertaining to sales.

Qualifications: We are looking for an individual with attention to detail, a strong work ethic and the ability to focus.

The minimum qualifications for this position:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration or related degree

10 years of direct sales experience and/or sales team management experience

Packaging Machinery industry sales experience required

Candidates should have experience dealing with customers in great detail, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Salary: $115K base/ looking for a candidate with the motivation, drive and intellectual capacity to justify a position that is $200K+ on an annual basis
