Another Source’s client, Getty, is recruiting a Tax Accounting Specialist to join their team in Los Angeles, California. This is a hybrid position working 2 days collaboratively in the office and 3 days remote with an additional benefit of having every other Friday off!

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience.

The Role

We are seeking a Tax Accounting Specialist to play a key role in ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations while supporting vendor payments and tax processes. This position focuses on sales tax, vendor classifications, and non-resident alien (NRA) taxation, with responsibilities that include preparing tax forms, analyzing vendor records, and providing tax guidance to internal teams. (Internally, this position is titled Tax Payment Specialist)

If you have a background in accounting, payroll, or accounts payable, with a keen eye for detail and an interest in tax processes, this role is an excellent opportunity to grow.

What You Will Do

Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax returns for both California and federal taxes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.

Review and submit various tax forms, including 1099 and 1042.

Analyze payments for tax liabilities, ensuring accurate withholding and reporting.

Review and verify vendor information, particularly regarding tax classification for sales and use tax.

Maintain tax files for vendors, including NRA tax records and ITIN applications.

Serve as a liaison with IRS and other tax authorities, managing ITIN applications and liaising on tax issues.

Coordinate annual tax workshops and training for Getty staff.

Provide guidance on tax treaty eligibility, exemptions, and other complex tax issues.

Respond to tax-related inquiries from internal stakeholders and assist with general tax compliance issues.

Qualifications: 

High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

3-5 years’ experience with tax accounting.

Knowledgeable of federal and state tax rules, with preferred experience in non-resident alien (NRA) tax compliance, including compensatory and non-compensatory payments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with non-resident alien (NRA) tax compliance, such as managing withholding, applying tax treaty benefits, and preparing 1042 forms.

Certified as an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent and a SEVIS responsible party.

Experience with tax treaties.
