Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position is responsible for day-to-day accounting
functions, including maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and assisting
with budgeting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial
data while helping the organization fulfill its mission. The CFO retains responsibility for final financial
deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate recording of financial transactions
Support the CFO in developing the annual operating budget and periodic forecasts
Prepare monthly draft financial statements and internal financial reports for review by the CFO
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts such as cash, receivables, payables, prepaids, and accruals
Assist with annual audit preparation by compiling schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
Track report on restricted and unrestricted funds, including grants
Oversee payroll journal entries and support payroll review
Collaborate with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Help develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Provide financial support to program and administrative teams as needed

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible accounting experience
Experience in non-profit or healthcare sectors is a plus but not required
Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles
Experience with audit preparation and monthly close processes
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel
CPA designation or candidate status is a plus but not mandatory
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a small, mission-driven team
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
