We are seeking an experienced and proactive accountant on a contract basis to assist with auditing bank and credit card transactions following a recent discovery of fraudulent activities. This temporary project is expected to last approximately 2-4 weeks. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with the IRS to obtain information, facilitate record changes, and assist in gaining access to locked accounts.
Duties:
Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial transactions, specifically focusing on bank and credit card records affected by fraud.
Collaborate with the IRS and other relevant authorities to obtain necessary information and documentation.
Facilitate the removal of a specific individual from our accounts by updating records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist in resolving issues related to locked accounts by communicating effectively with financial institutions and relevant parties.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
Some experience working directly with the IRS or similar agencies to obtain information and resolve financial matters.
Some experience in forensic accounting or fraud examination would be highly beneficial.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Some experience in financial auditing and/or dealing with fraud-related issues.
Familiarity with IRS procedures
Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet project deadlines.
QuickBooks desktop Experience a must
