Job Title: Grounds SupervisorDepartment: Grounds/LandscapingReports To: Ground ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptHourly Rate: $28-$30SummaryServe as the administrative point person for the department, managing staff scheduling, ensuring budget compliance, and acting as the primary contact for irrigation. Maintain necessary certifications, provide training, and onboard new hires. Collaborate with the Grounds Manager to maintain a flexible schedule and serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD) in their absence. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Grounds/Landscaping team, leading employees in landscaping and ground maintenance tasks. Ensure all assignments are completed, using chemicals and materials safely and in accordance with procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Administrative and Coordination

Manage Staff Scheduling: Create and maintain the department's staff schedule, ensuring appropriate coverage for all shifts and tasks.

Ensure Budget Compliance: Monitor and manage the department’s budget, ensuring that all operations stay within financial limits.

Primary Contact for Irrigation: Serve as the main point of contact for all irrigation-related issues, coordinating repairs, maintenance, and upgrades as needed.

Certification and Training

Maintain Necessary Certifications: Keep all required certifications up to date, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Provide Training and Onboarding: Train new hires and ensure they are properly onboarded into the department, familiarizing them with procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.

Collaboration and Leadership

Collaborate with Grounds Manager: Work closely with the Grounds Manager to develop and maintain a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the department.

Act as Manager on Duty (MOD): Step in as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Grounds Manager, overseeing all departmental operations.

Lead Grounds Crew: Guide the grounds crew in daily operations, ensuring that all job assignments are completed during the shift and maintaining a hands-on approach to leadership.

Supervision and Maintenance

Supervise Grounds/Landscaping Team: Oversee and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in landscaping and grounds maintenance, providing guidance and support as needed.

Cleans Grounds: Perform and oversee the cleaning of grounds as assigned, ensuring all areas are well-maintained.

Landscaping Maintenance: Maintain landscaping, including the care and replacement of plants, grass, and shrubs, ensuring the facility's exterior is visually appealing.

Sprinkler System Maintenance: Ensure sprinkler systems are in proper working order, performing routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.

Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, ensuring they are available when needed.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure tools and equipment are in proper working order, notifying the supervisor of any repairs needed or if supplies are low.

Chemical Use: Utilize chemicals and materials necessary for grounds upkeep in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), adhering to safety requirements.

Job Completion: Ensure the completion of assigned tasks unless released by a supervisor, taking responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.

Follow Safety Guidelines: Adhere to established safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment for all staff.

Dress Code Compliance: Follow the facility's dress code and grooming standards to maintain a professional appearance.

Policy Adherence: Attend to and conform to the policies established by LBCEC and the Grounds Department, ensuring compliance in all areas of responsibility.

Supervisory Responsibilities Manages all employees in the Grounds/Landscaping Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG/ASM Global’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
