This position will work with both internal and external customers in developing cost savings initiatives as well as administering KPI/scorecard maintenance and ensuring proper routings are followed. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of process improvements to reduce cost, lead time variability and projects across departments to achieve transportation goals and carrier management, ensuring partners meet or exceed our service expectations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for measuring, analyzing, and reporting transportation services and routes (50%)

Maintain carrier scorecards and operational metrics tracking critical KPI’s for enhanced service and quality in weekly, monthly meetings.

Drive carrier compliance to ensure on time delivery and address shipment exceptions.

Review and authorize carrier invoices for payment.

Generate internal reporting for different functions of the business (weekly, monthly, quarterly).

Provide customer service to internal and external customers.

Support financial estimates for necessary functions of transportation.

Assist team members and internal customers in analysis and tracking of information as needed.

Any additional tasks as required by supervisor.

Drive savings and improve service levels (50%)

Evaluate lanes and modes to ensure most effective use of time and costs making fact-based recommendations and improvements.

Identify, create, and validate initiatives that improve both processes and costs and assist others in their analysis and projects.

Develop, lead and complete direct cross functional operations projects that encompass productivity and process improvements.

Support Transportation leadership in preparing reports, improving processes, and providing analysis.

SOP development and maintenance.

Education and Experience Profile

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Position requires knowledge typically obtained through 4-7+ years’ experience working with a high-volume manufacturer, 3PL, or direct carrier firm preferred.

LEAN and Six Sigma training & experience helpful.

Required Skills

Experience driving performance enhancing changes with carriers ensuring internal KPI’s and targets are achieved.

Self-starter, quantitative problem-solving skills, with strong team involvement

Strong presentation skills, written and oral in an organized fashion.

Microsoft office with strong experience strong in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of data base solutions as: Access or Power BI preferred.

Experience with WMS, ERP and TMS solutions is a plus

Knowledge of LTL, TL, and small package cost drivers, market environment, and key suppliers.

Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

Pay Range: $58,438-$85,709.

This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
