We are currently looking for a Full-Time Therapist to join our Foster Care team. The Therapist will be responsible for providing counseling to children that are part of our foster care population as assigned by the Director of Mental Health Services. Other duties include but are not limited to: Provide individual, group and family counseling, and specific skill development training to children and families (i.e. conflict resolution, psychotropic medication, independent living, self-sufficiency development, etc.). Assist in developing and/or maintaining support services for individual children/families, including accessing health, mental health, education, transportation or recreational services. Use appropriate Trauma Informed practice as necessary to redirect behavior and help each child develop his/her own capacity for self-control. Responsible for reporting any actual or suspected child abuse; responsible for reporting special incident reports (both telephonic and written) to appropriate persons and/or licensing and placing agencies. Responsible for completing all mandated reports, documentation, treatment and quarterly reports, billing and tracking requirements pertaining to the mental health program.

Skills/Requirements: A Master's degree in social work or social welfare, marriage, family and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology or social psychology is required from an accredited school. Registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a licensed Therapist or in the process of becoming licensed is required. Experience working with youth in a position of line counselor or therapist. Must be at least 21 years of age or older, able to pass a physical examination; drug clearance; criminal background check; Child Abuse Index check. Must hold a valid California driver's license with clean DMV history, be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Trinity's insurance carrier. Must have a special interest in working with youth and must fulfill the general requirements as established in the California Administrative Code, Title 22. Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Compensation commensurate with experience.
