Are you a dedicated dog lover that is both responsible and reliable? We're seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Kennel Assistant. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to care for and interact with our furry guests, ensuring they receive top-notch care and attention.
As a Kennel Assistant, you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks including cleaning, feeding, administering medication, and providing much-needed playtime for our dogs. Strong communication skills are key as you'll be interacting with clients during drop-offs and pickups. Collaboration with our team is essential to ensure each dog receives tailored care based on their individual needs, including monitoring for any changes in behavior or health.
Responsibilities:
- Transport dogs to and from kennels
- Ensure dogs have access to food and water at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennel areas
- Perform routine tasks such as trash removal and grooming
- Monitor dogs for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to a supervisor promptly
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members
- Complete daily checklists of tasks to ensure all duties are fulfilled
Skills/Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
- Previous experience caring for animals, particularly dogs, is preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional hygiene standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unaided
- Genuine passion for working with dogs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Possession of a reliable car and valid driver's license
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
