Open Role: Purchasing Clerk

Pay Rate: $20 -$23 (overtime eligible)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PT

Start Date: 6/17

Length of Assignment: 2-4 months (maybe longer).

Materials Planner:

A Materials Planner is responsible for coordinating the transfer of raw materials, parts, and finished products between the source and the final destination. Monitors material requirements and tracks movement with purchasing, production, and warehouses. Being a Material Planner ensures material inventory levels are sufficient to meet production schedules or inventory requirements. Inputs data into a system or database to produce reporting and demand estimates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates finite production schedule between planning and plant operations.

Research vendors and collect prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.

Establishes and maintains a recordkeeping system for the purchasing department.

Ensure raw/packed materials are kept in the appropriate quantities to support production requirements.

Creates purchase orders and tracks incoming orders.

Reconcile inventory count discrepancies.

Respond to emergency supply material requests.

Collaborate with buyers on incoming material requirements.

Assist with other tasks assigned by the Plant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum high school diploma, associate’s degree, or trade school equivalent is a plus.

Experience with material handling & material organization.

Experienced in Microsoft Office and ERP.

Strong teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills.

Proven ability to effectively manage changing and multiple priorities.

Establish and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements.

Represent the department positively and professionally.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the job duties, the associate is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Strong organizational skills and proficiency in various clerical tasks, including computer skills (Word, Excel, ERP). Individuals should have CPG experience understanding the purchasing and inventory process.
