An authentic Japanese restaurant is seeking experienced Kitchen Staff to join their team. The restaurant delivers a memorable dining experience. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to provide outstanding customer service while efficiently managing orders and ensuring that all guests feel welcomed and valued.

Duties

Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Take accurate food and beverage orders using the Square POS system or similar point-of-sale technology.

Provide recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience.

Deliver food and drinks promptly while ensuring proper sanitation standards are met.

Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and using the cash register.

Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including sanitizing tables and utensils between guests.

Respond to guest inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders.

Experience

Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.

Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tables and requests simultaneously.

Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating bills accurately.

Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Square POS, is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.

Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on providing outstanding customer service.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Able to speak or learn Japanese phrases

Server Pay: From $16.50 per hour to range $22.00 depending on experience

Kitchen Pay: From $18.00 per hour to range $25.00 depending on experience

About the Role: As a key member of the kitchen team, responsibilities include:

Yakitori : Skillfully preparing and skewering a variety of yakitori ingredients, mastering the grilling techniques to ensure perfect texture and flavor for each skewer.

Culinary Expertise: Preparing and cooking a diverse range of Japanese dishes, upholding the highest standards of authenticity and taste.

Food Preparation: Assisting with all aspects of food preparation, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients.

Kitchen Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized workstation and kitchen environment, ensuring strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Team Collaboration: Working effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.

Inventory and Stock: Assisting with inventory management and ensuring proper storage of ingredients to preserve freshness.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting.

Specialized experience in yakitori preparation, including skewering and grilling techniques (training is provided).

A solid understanding of various Japanese dishes and cooking methods.

Strong knife skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

A positive and professional attitude, demonstrating a strong work ethic.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Adherence to all food safety and hygiene guidelines.
