Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for plumbing projects
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Analyze project requirements and determine the most cost-effective methods and materials to be used
- Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys for various construction trades
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals
- Create and maintain a comprehensive database of historical cost information for future reference
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and requirements
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely cost estimates to clients
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Plumbing or site utility estimating
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plumbing plans and specifications
- Knowledge of plumbing materials, methods, and techniques
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools is preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
