Location: Humboldt County, CA (Primary work area)
Employment: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; occasional overtime)
Rate: $30 / hour

NorCal Exterior is a locally owned exterior-construction company specializing in windows, siding, and doors. We serve homeowners along the Northern California coast and pride ourselves on quality workmanship, clear communication, and acting in our clients’ best interests. As we expand, we’re seeking a skilled construction foreman to lead exterior remodeling projects and our crew, to help build multiple teams over the next several years.

Key Responsibilities
Lead daily operations for residential window, siding, and door installations
Manage materials, order supplies, and maintain organized job sites
Ensure quality control and compliance with safety standards (e.g., fall protection, respirators, job site safety)
Track progress and communicate updates using project-management software
Assign tasks, train crew members, and promote a positive, collaborative work environment
Resolve conflicts professionally and provide feedback to the owner on crew dynamics
Perform hands-on tasks (e.g., climbing ladders, installing siding windows and doors, performing inspections) as needed
Grow into a Project Manager role, overseeing multiple crews as the business expands
Promote teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect
Recognize and reinforce individual/team achievements
Solicit input and feedback from crew members; address conflicts calmly and professionally
Communicate clearly with the owner regarding crew dynamics, job progress, and any obstacles
Requirements
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in exterior construction (windows, siding, doors)
Thorough knowledge of building science and water-management best practices
Familiarity with California’s building energy-efficiency standards
Valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record
Strong leadership and team-building skills:
Ability to motivate, delegate, and foster trust
Clear, concise communicator—both written and verbal
Excellent problem-solving skills; able to adapt to changing circumstances
Coachable: accepts feedback, takes direction well, and continuously seeks improvement
Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs, work on ladders and scissor lifts, and climb in attics or under structures
Must own a personal respirator
Comfortable using smartphones/tablets and project-management software on the job site
Must supply a basic set of personal hand tools
Able to back up and maneuver a trailer safely
(Bonus) Owning a truck with a lumber rake is a large asset but not required
Preferred Certifications (Beneficial, Not Required)
OSHA 30
HERS or ECC certification (classes and proof of completion)
