Humboldt Humane’s Critters Without Litters is seeking a Kennel Assistant who is passionate about providing high-quality care for cats and dogs in our community.
Critters Without Litters is a nonprofit high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter clinic in Fernbridge, dedicated to providing affordable spay and neuter services to prevent unwanted litters of puppies and kittens in our community. Our friendly and compassionate staff treat all animals that come into our clinic as if they were their own.
Summary: As an entry-level position, this part-time role is primarily janitorial-based, involving a variety of duties related to surgeries, treatments, and disinfecting treatment areas and kennels to ensure the safety of all animals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean and prepare surgical equipment throughout the day
Wrap and sanitize surgical wraps
Ensure a sterile environment is always maintained
Clean and prepare kennels for both cats and dogs
Feed both cats and dogs following surgery recovery
Upkeep laundry throughout the day
Assist medical staff as needed
End-of-day cleaning of the clinic, including trash, kennel cleaning, and mopping
Qualifications:
Experience working with animals
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Strong work ethic
Team player with a can-do attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask
Attention to detail
Compensation:
Competitive pay
Monday – Thursday afternoon schedule
No weekends/on-call/nights
