Environmental Services Worker

WeCare at Scotia Bluffs formally known as Southern Trinity Health Services Scotia Bluffs Community Health Center is seeking a part-time (30 hours a week) Environmental Services worker.

Summary: Under to supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Environmental Services Worker is responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of the facility as well as various other tasks as detailed below.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities :

Expected to be prepared to start shift at the scheduled time, meet attendance standards, and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls, dental and medical exam rooms, conference room and private office areas.

Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones

Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed

Maintain outdoor grounds, i.e., water plants, sweep up debris etc.

Empty trash and recycling bins

Stock and maintain supply rooms and offices

Stock various printers with paper

Vacuum, sweep and mop floors

Clean and maintain restrooms

Washing and clean windows and mirrors

Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions

Dust furniture, fixtures, machines and equipment as well as water and take care of several indoor plants

Administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain health service vehicles.

Administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Customer Relations

1. Respond promptly and with caring actions to patients and employees. Acknowledge psychosocial, spiritual and cultural beliefs and honor these beliefs.

3. Be part of a team and cooperate in accomplishing department goals and objectives.

Safety

1. Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices.

2. Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.

3. Use appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environment.

4. Be familiar with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exits.

5. Follow all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocols.

HIPAA/Compliance

1. Maintain privacy of all patient, employee and volunteer information and access such information only on a need to know basis for business purposes.

2. Comply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations. Report unethical, fraudulent or unlawful behavior or activity.

Qualifications:

Skills: Attention to detail which assists with keeping the facility clean. Self-motivated, responsible, strong work ethic, independent and have excellent time management skills.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: Experience working as a housekeeper or janitor/custodian is preferred, but not necessary. Detail-oriented with the ability to work with minimal to no supervision.

Physical and Mental Requirements: See, hear, talk, walk, sit or stand for long periods of time, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 75 lbs. Have reliable transportation; clean driving record and insurance as required by the state.
