POSITION SUMMARY

The Taproom Bartender represents Paskenta Mad River Brewing LLC to all customers that come through the doors. They provide excellent service and uphold the company’s policies and values through each transaction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides constant, attentive and friendly service to patrons.

Obtains orders from patrons.

Ability to operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) system along with collecting cash, making change and processing credit card transactions.

Monitors consumption of alcohol served to patrons.

Must be able to keep the bar clean, stocked, and organized.

Must learn about brewery beers to relay to patrons.

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the beer garden, porch areas, back bar, seating area and restrooms.

Responsible for cleaning equipment, furniture and fixtures.

Responsible for bussing tables

Maintains confidential daily record keeping of tips.

Upholds standards set by Alcohol Beverage Control Board of California.

Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Responsible for opening and/or closing the facility, as well as ensuring the building is secure.

Set-up and clean-up prior to opening and at the end of a shift.

Ensures safe food and beverage handling.

Ability to build relationships with food vendors and bands.

Responsible for enforcing the Taprooms Policies

Able to maintain a hospitable and team atmosphere with fellow staff.

Responsible for documenting incidents.

Relays any complaints, problems or positive remarks to Management.

Follows established company and departmental standards for personal appearance and behavior.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

1. Must be able to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

2. Must possess excellent customer service skills and have a positive attitude.

3. Must possess a strong sense of integrity.

4. Ability to de-escalate situations.

5. Ability to demonstrate good judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

6. Must have an open mind and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.

7. Demonstrated knowledge or willingness to learn craft beer and production.

8. Familiarity with POS and office software

9. Ability to learn and maintain awareness of overall operations when handling issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required.

Previous customer service experience is required.

Responsible Beverage Server Training is required upon hire.

Serve Safe Certificate is preferred, but can be obtained upon hire.

Willing to obtain a food handlers certificate.

Must be familiar with POS and Office Software

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS

Pre-employment Drug Testing and a Department of Justice Fingerprinting clearance through Federal, State and Child Abuse Index is a contingency for an offer of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stoop. The employee must be able to frequently lift 1 to 8 pounds and occasionally lift, move or push up to 50 pounds. The employee must occasionally be able to lift, move or push 50-160 pounds with assistance. Position may require exertion up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move Paskenta Mad River Brewing LLC property. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
