Vacancy caducado!
Due to an extremely high level of replies, please note that I am looking for a motivated “laborer” looking to learn a trade. I am not on the hunt for a tile setter or someone wanting to walk in and set tile because they’ve done it before. This could involve a year or two or three of being a laborer, but with it will come knowledge of a trade and of course increases in pay. If this is you please read on and reach out.
On the hunt for someone willing to learn a trade. The tile trade is hard work, but its one of the most rewarding trades in construction. No one covers our work and for that reason it takes a lot of patience and skill.
As an apprentice you will be setting up the job, moving tile around to rooms, mixing mud, tile adhesives, making cuts for the setter, grouting, and job cleanup. During this time you will learn the trade, although it takes years to really catch on. An experienced apprentice is worth $30/hr or more. This job will start at $20/hr but you will move up fast if you’re motivated and quick to learn. Preferably you already know your fractions and how to use a tape measure.
Must be able to carry heavy loads, sometimes up stairs, down stairs, or around the house and up/down stairs.
Must have a reliable vehicle, truck preferred but not necessary, be presentable (in construction terms), non smoking (on jobsite), and be available 7:30-4 weekdays. This is construction so hours can vary, most weeks involve right around 32-36 hours.
Opportunity for side jobs on weekends to further your knowledge will come with time, if desired.
