This is a Working Family Farm located where you can enjoy all of the seasons in the Sierra Foothills (Gold country) with many opportunities to learn new skills and trades. This is an opportunity to work outdoors/indoors on many different hands-on projects including general estate landscaping/farming/pruning/groundskeeping, general maintenance of equipment, fencing, buildings, small vineyard, etc.
This position is Full Time with benefits/401K/vacation etc. and opportunities for growth will be based on the skills and performance of the qualified candidate.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Some Experience required
(Happy to train but need some foundation knowledge & Experience)
Maintain farm/ranch structures, e.g. buildings, fences, electrical helpful )
Running machinery including saws, welding equipment, and tractor
Maintaining machinery including oil changes, cleaning, lubrication
Maintain pumps associated with water/irrigation operations
Planning, planting, and care of the vineyard
Care and feeding of animals such as horses, cats, cattle, chickens, etc.
Planning, planting, and care of the vegetable garden
Washing Windows
Maintains fire safety systems including fire extinguishers, smoke alarms
Should have the following experience:
Previous experience as a ranch hand or equivalent.
Experience in construction or as a handyman
Experience welding
Operate ATVs, trucks, and other machinery/equipment
Competency in the safe operation of tractors, mowers, trucks, chain saws, spraying, and harvesting equipment
Experience building and caring for a vineyard
Experience raising livestock
Regular duties will be Monday through Friday. Occasionally there will be a need for weekend work to check in on animals or other minor tasksthese will be arranged in advance so we can all plan appropriately. Must physically be capable of performing labor that can require heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, working with your hands, working with tools and machinery. You should have good mechanical skills. Work effectively with minimal supervision, self-motivated and self-starter
All qualifying candidates must be willing to submit to a background check that will include credit, criminal, driving record, and related verification.
High School, High School Equivalent or Some college experience a plus
