We are seeking a motivated and reliable Facility Maintenance Manager to oversee and coordinate maintenance operations at Final Mile Cold Storage in Reedley, CA. We are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills and who can decipher what to do next and how to use their time most wisely. As a lead maintenance professional for a cold storage facility, your responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of the refrigeration system, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and optimizing space utilization, while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Essential functions and basic duties of the position:
1. Refrigeration System Maintenance
Regular Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of the refrigeration system, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and piping, for any signs of leaks, damage, or low refrigerant levels.
Temperature Monitoring: Track and maintain accurate temperature records, ensuring that the cold storage facility operates within the required temperature range.
Preventative Maintenance: Implement a preventative maintenance program, including cleaning condenser and evaporator coils, lubricating moving parts, and checking electrical connections.
Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency procedures for addressing power outages, equipment failures, and other potential issues.
2. Facility Maintenance
Cleaning and Sanitation: Regularly clean the facility, including floors, walls, ceilings, and storage areas, to prevent the growth of mold, bacteria, and other contaminants.
Humidity Control: Monitor and control humidity levels to prevent condensation and product spoilage.
Door Seals and Insulation: Inspect and maintain door seals and insulation to ensure proper temperature control and energy efficiency.
Floor Maintenance: Keep floors dry and free of ice and spills to prevent accidents.
Optimize Space Utilization: Implement strategies to maximize storage capacity while maintaining airflow and access to goods.
3. Safety and Compliance
Safety Protocols: Ensure that all staff members are trained in safety procedures and follow established protocols.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and comply with all relevant regulations and standards for cold storage facilities.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency procedures to address power outages, equipment failures, and other potential issues.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED required; relevant certifications or technical degrees preferred
5+ years of site maintenance management experience, including strategic resource planning
Hands-on experience with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems in temperature-controlled environments
Expertise in Process Safety Management and regulatory compliance
Strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance best practices
Excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
