Employment Type:Part timeShift:Description:Reporting to the Supervisor, Clinical Lab Scientist, Lab, Automated Operations, or the department Supervisor/Lead, this position is responsible for providing support for all areas of the lab. Departmental activities include managing blood inventories, performing equipment preventative maintenance, issuing/returning blood components to/from transfusion sites, helping to prepare blood components for infusion, preparing statistical reports, answering and directing incoming phone calls, and assuring accurate patient billing for blood testing. Additional responsibilities include assisting licensed testing personnel in the performance of laboratory testing by preparing instruments, samples, culture media, reagents, and labeling samples.
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree in Biological Sciences is preferred.
One year of data entry experience is required.
Previous clinical laboratory experience is required. Successful completion of a minimum of two college-level classes requiring clinical lab components may be substituted for experience.
Certified Laboratory Assistant (CLA) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification is preferred.
