Sr. Accountant

Description We are searching for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the transport industry. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including supervising and directing payroll, accounts payable, and financial close process.Responsibilities: Supervise and manage payroll, accounts payable, and the financial close process Ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries and account reconciliations Administer the accounts payable disbursement platform and purchase card portfolio Ensure operational controls within the purchasing, accounts payable, and invoicing systems Collaborate with department managers to develop, track, allocate, and forecast overhead and employee benefit expenses Ensure timely submission of regulatory filings, federal & state tax/fee filings and associated payments Develop accurate financial statements for each financial period and provide management with an executive summary of financial results, including an analysis of historical trends Ensure financial transactions and reporting comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies & procedures Review processes and make recommendations for improvements Handle ad hoc special projects and analyses as requested.Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant. Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations Extensive experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Demonstrable experience in Month End Close procedures Familiarity with ERP software Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferredRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
