Job Title: Phlebotomist IIJob DescriptionSummary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Position Responsibilities: Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Properly explain the process of venipuncture, blood drawing, and other specimen collection such as urine or fecal as required. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all physicians' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples according to required temperature. Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label, and follow different procedures as outlined by protocol necessary for transport to maintain specimen integrity. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Hard Skills

Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 26 Weekly.Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Fontana, California.Work EnvironmentPatient Service Centers. The candidate must float to sites in Rancho Cucamonga (2 sites), Fontana, Upland, and possibly San Bernardino in the future. MUST BE AVAILABLE 6:00AM to 6:00PM. The candidate will need to be available during these times and a week before, the hiring manager will send out a schedule for the site and times. 8-hour shifts, not a shift from 6AM to 6PM. Draw time should be 1 patient every 6 minutes. Large volume sites with over 200 patients at the Fontana location and about 100 at the Rancho Cucamonga location. The worker is expected to stand most of the day other than checking patients in and during breaks.
