Description Job Title: Staff AccountantJob Description:We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role requires proficiency in payroll functions, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, general ledger activities, and auditing for compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to operate efficiently under tight deadlines.Responsibilities:
Payroll: Manage payroll for 150 union employees located in San Diego, having a bi-weekly payment cycle executed through Paycom. This includes the calculation of revenue each month for bonus distribution.
Accounts Payable (AP): Handle AP on a weekly basis, processing approximately 70-80 invoices through an automated system.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing two accounts, each having 15-20 pages. This role involves reconciling accounts combined with eight restaurant operations.
General Ledger (GL): Post detailed and accurate entries in the General Ledger. This includes ensuring that posted journal entries are properly recorded by our team.
Month End Close: Manage the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Auditing: Compliance with company policies and external regulations. This includes reconciling insurance auditing, calculations, and reporting for the fiscal year.
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
Proven experience in a similar role
Experience with Sage Intact is highly preferred
Strong understanding of payroll, GL, journal entries, AP, and auditing concepts.
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
Ability to operate under strict deadlines
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
