Machinist Assistant - Immediately Hiring - Career Opportunity - Escondido, CAJob Description
As a Machinist Assistant, you will perform secondary machining operations, as well as monitor and run CNC screw machines.
You will also be responsible for performing initial parts inspection, production tooling, grinding basic turn tools, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the work area to 5S standards.
This role requires keeping logs current and assisting Machinists in day-to-day production and manufacturing functions.
Responsibilities
Perform secondary machining operations
Monitor and run CNC screw machines
Perform initial parts inspection
Grind basic turn tools for production tooling
Clean and maintain CNC machines
Ensure the work area is kept clean and safe to 5S standards
Keep logs current
Assist Machinists in day-to-day production and manufacturing functions
Perform other duties as directed by the manager
Work Environment
The work environment is an indoor machine shop that is climate controlled.
The culture is tight-knit and family-oriented.
The noise levels are moderate, similar to a light industrial environment or household with TVs and dishwashers.
Occasionally, you may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Shifts available include 1st Shift (6am - 2:30pm Mon-Fri), 2nd Shift (2pm - 10:30pm), and 3rd Shift (10pm - 6:30am). Training will occur on the 1st shift.
