Small 6-bed facilities in Paradise, great nursing experience, competitive wages, wonderful work environment in a home-like setting. Some medical background preferred. Will train the right individuals!
Starting wage $19.50- $20.50. More with experience.

TITLE OF POSITION: Nursing Assistant (NA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Developmentally Disabled Nursing Assistant (DDNA), Medication Technician (Med Tech)
REPORTS TO: 1.Manager
2. QIDP, for Individual Service Plan (ISP) related issues
3. Administrator & RN Administrator
POSITION CONTRIBUTION: Provide direct-care services to the developmentally disabled population
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs prescribed client care duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, schedules and individual Nursing Care Plan
a. Bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing
b. Oral care
c. Feeding by mouth or through gastrostomy and jejunostomy tube
d. Individual Service Plan and recreational programs
e. Weigh and measure clients
2. Performs specified procedures upon receipt of training and certification in proficiency:
a. Administer medication by mouth, or via gastrostomy and jejunostomy tubes
b. Tracheotomy care and suctioning
c. Oral suctioning
d. Administer oxygen
e. Respiratory treatments via nebulizer
f. Suppositories/enemas
3. Record/chart vitals and data as instructed, or as medically appropriate
4. Identifies and reports any abnormal client condition to RN on duty
5. Assist consultants (physical therapist, occupational therapist, physician, pharmacist, dietitian and massage therapist) in performing their duties
6. Perform general housekeeping duties
7. Report structural and equipment items in need of repair
8. Other duties as assigned
ABLE TO BE PROFICIENT IN THESE SKILLS FOLLOWING TRAINING:
1. Possess sufficient direct-care nursing skills necessary to meet the needs of medically fragile individuals
2. Client transporting, lifting, positioning and therapy equipment
3. Kitchen appliances
4. Client feeding pump, nebulizer, suction machine, oxygen concentrator, portable oxygen tanks, oxygen saturation monitor, blood pressure device, and stethoscope
5. Mechanical toys and switches
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Paid by facility if needed
1. CPR Certificate
2. First Aid Certificate
3. CNA or DDNA certification. (DDNA program is provided by Alpine Homes, and must be completed within 90-days of hire)
4. Pre-employment finger printing via live scan clearance (employee’s responsibility)
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
1. Attendance is expected monthly at all in-service meetings sponsored by Alpine Homes.
2. Professional growth is highly encouraged.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Physically able to provide direct care to individuals with no self-help skills; a strong, healthy back is essential in order to lift, push, pull, or roll clients weighing up to 130 lbs
2. Physically able to maneuver awkward and/or heavy therapy equipment
3. Lift and handle large boxes and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.
4. Provide CPR and First Aide in emergencies until professional medical help arrives
5. Wear gloves, wear mask, gown or other protective devices as appropriate
6. Every staff must work every other weekend, one shift during the week and some holidays.
(Seasonal position exempted)
