Job Description:
The Bookkeeper/Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of our medical practice, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, managing accounts payable, and assisting with other accounting tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
1. Bookkeeping
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Preparing and analyzing financial reports (e.g., income statements, balance sheets).
- Managing the general ledger.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
2) Payroll
- Processing bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for all employees.
- Calculating and withholding taxes.
- Managing employee time and attendance records.
- Preparing and filing payroll tax returns.
- Handling employee payroll inquiries.
3) Accounts Payable
- Processing invoices and expense reports.
- Ensuring timely payment of vendors.
- Maintaining vendor relationships.
- Reconciling vendor statements.
- Managing accounts payable aging reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience processing payroll and managing accounts payable.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.1
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
3. Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts payable required.
- 1 year of experience working in a healthcare/medical setting preferred.
