Analyst, Category Development

Job Description

The Category Development, Analystperforms a valuable role in building a strong partnership with The Nature's Bounty Co.'s internal functions by analyzing and providing actionable insights around specific programs that deliver against category and customer priorities. This position is responsible for working on the analysis and reporting of Category Management foundations and directives throughout the organization for the assigned categories and retailers.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Developing and running weekly/monthly category and brand reports to help the team understand trends and analytics.
• Leveragingdata and analytics to deliver best-in-class merchandising recommendations at the retailer level.
• Presenting analytical findings to internal teams and our customer buyers.
• Assisting with any research and lead projects to deliver category solutions benefitting both the customer and the category
• Developing standardized category review templates to help drive actionable insights.
• Optimizingcategory management tools – assortment and space management.
• Developing and employing standardized processes for SKU rationalization and new item projections.
• Providing sales projections and communication leveraging advanced consumer data (Market Research, Consumer Decision Tree, Household Panel Data, Nielsen Data Retrieval/Analysis, JDA).
• Supporting the Category Management team and its directives based on Industry Trends & Consumer Insights by collaborating with various third party data sources and constructing dynamic presentations around key consumer trends that are driving the category dynamics.
• Working as a strong internal resource for accessing internal knowledge and translating it into action to identify opportunities in the assigned retailer and facilitating solution development with the account team and other team members.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of category management focused Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience required
• Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry strongly preferred
• 2 + years of extensive experience working with Nielsen/IRI syndicated and panel data
• Experience with CPG customer analytics and presenting thesefindings to internal teams and customer buyers preferably with Walmart
• Experience working directly with account teams
• 2+ years of experience interacting directly with CPG industry customers
• Microsoft Office, inclusive ofstrong Excel and PowerPoint
• JDA Space Management skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills; must be an articulate communicator who can quickly synthesize data
• Demonstrated ability to provide concise brand and category findings to drive distribution
• Ability to build relationships and senior level engagement
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Must work well in a team environment and have a demonstrated ability to operate at all levels within an organization
• Flexible to travel as needed
• Bachelor's degree required
