Surgical/Dental Prep Veterinary Assistant

In this vital role, you will play a key part in maintaining efficiency and safety in the surgical suite by managing pre-operative preparation, assisting with patient handling, and maintaining strict cleanliness and sterilization protocols.This position is ideal for someone who thrives behind the scenes and takes pride in creating a safe, sterile, and organized environment for both patients and veterinary staff.Key Responsibilities:Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures, including shaving, scrubbing, and positioningAssist with pre-operative assessments such as vital signs and patient identificationSet up surgical and dental suites with appropriate instruments and suppliesSterilize and maintain surgical and dental tools and equipmentRestock surgical supplies and ensure inventory is maintainedClean and disinfect surgical areas before and after each procedureAssist with patient restraint and monitoring as needed during induction and recoverySupport veterinary team with anesthesia prep and monitoring setupMaintain accurate records and logs related to equipment sterilization and prepAdhere to safety and infection control protocols at all times
