Job Details

You will lead a small engineering team on a long term R&D project as part of a large government program. This involves work on distributed data gathering, analysis systems, and creation of new ML/AI models to generate training and engineering simulations. As a lead, you will be responsible for the overall architecture of the program, the management of system development, and the technical communication and coordination between our team and peers on the program. You will be responsible for integrating specialist-generated software from other team members into the wider system. You will also provide input on product schedules, task estimates, and identifying technical risks and mitigations. It is expected that you write robust, readable, well-documented, and efficient code, and ensure that other members of the team do so. As a lead, you must be a coach and mentor that can provide code and suggestions for other team members, fostering education and growth.

Key performance metrics will cover working with product and research teams to demonstrate

Software component delivery and quality
Application and system reliability and uptime
Project schedule and scope performance
Productive collaboration and ideation
Performance and growth of subordinates

Requirements

7+ years professional programming experience.
Experience building large scale systems, including designing interfaces and integrating third parties.
Experience with a wide variety of technology platforms and languages.
Experience shipping and maintaining complex systems.
Proficient in scoping, planning, and execution of long term engineering projects, including cloud architecture.
Experience with common engineering tools and Devops principles (eg.; Github, Jira, Perforce)

Strong Plusses

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Some experience with R&D projects and AI programming systems.
Experience working with distributed or real time networking systems.
Experience with Government systems, including fielding systems for DoD use.

NOTE This role is for a US Government program, which requires all contractors with full-time employees to be US citizens.
