We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse with prior experience in a clinic for a position with our Internal Medicine Clinic.

Our clinic hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4 : 30pm, and Friday 8am-2pm and closed for holidays and weekends. Our clinic is conveniently located across from Washington Regional Medical Center in the William L.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for measuring / recording patients vital signs, update charts, prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments, obtain consents and explain procedures, assist physician with in-office procedures, administer injectable medications / vaccines, perform services (such as : EKG, suture removals, patient education, etc.

preauthorize services with insurance companies, arrange and schedule referrals to other providers / facilities while coordinating with insurance requirements if applicable, maintain various medical logs according to policy / procedures set forth within the clinic, inventory and requisition supplies and instruments, clean and sterilize instruments using germicides, sterilizers or autoclave, set-up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms, communicate care needs / services with the patient and / or their representative, answer patients’ calls and determine how to assist them, upon physician orders refill prescriptions via electronic, fax, or phone, evaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health-care team members as necessary, work as part of a health care team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions.

This position must be able to prioritize clinic / patients needs and assist in other areas as requested. This position works independently and has exposure to communicable disease and body fluids.

This position spends the majority of time standing (up to 60% of work time) with frequent walking of short distances (up to 20% of work times.)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Arkansas LPN license, CPR

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

The ability to operate standard nursing practices, as usually demonstrated by completion of a registered nursing program or a licensed practical nursing program and obtainment of AR licensure as a RN.

This position must have effective communication skills with patients, co-workers, supervisor and physicians. This position must have good problem solving skills and utilize professional knowledge in this process.
