Overview

Employees will have flexibility to work in all areas related to Covid-19 activity including ER Screening, Surgery Screening, Incident Command, and the Viral Screening Clinic.

Their role is to help keep a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors by following CDC protocols. Will enforce policies and procedures.

Shift hours will vary as well as assignments areas.

ER Screening :

Requires each entrant to wear a mask. Screener will then ask all screening questions as per the screening questionnaire, and will accurately take and record all visitors’ temperatures.

Follows protocols for entrants that report having a temperature or any Covid-19 symptoms.Restricts visitors as appropriate.

Contacts floor when there is a delivery to be made.Keeps wheelchairs available.Sanitizes work area and wheelchairs as needed.

Directs entrants appropriately once they have been screened.Will order supplies as needed to include screening forms, batteries, bottled water, cleaning supplies, facial tissue, probe covers, hand sanitizer, etc.

Surgery Screening :

Screens patients scheduled for surgical procedures at the appropriate Surgery entrance. Requires each entrant to wear a mask.

Screener then asks all screening questions as per the screening questionnaire, and will accurately take and record all visitors’ temperatures.

Follows protocols for entrants that report having a temperature or any Covid-19 symptoms.Restricts visitors as appropriate.

Contacts floor when there is a delivery to be made.Keeps wheelchairs available.Sanitizes work area and wheelchairs as needed.

Directs entrants appropriately once they have been screened.Puts screening questionnaires in the appropriate place at the end of the day.

Incident Command :

Employees will answer the Command Center phone and will follow script.Asks questions of Incident Commander or House Supervisor as appropriate.

Acts as runner if something needs to be picked up or delivered.

Viral Screening Clinic :

Determines the appropriate lab package that will be used for each patient : Pre-Op Screening or Covid-19 Screening.Writes patients’ name, date of birth, date and time of test legibly on test kit.

Puts test package in the appropriate place after testing is complete.

Will perform other duties assigned.

Education : High School Diploma

Experience :

Customer service or experience in a service industry.

Healthcare experience.

Degrees, Licensure, and / or Certification :

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to follow instructions and multi-task. Must write legibly and accurately.
