Job purpose: Maintain production flow by moving, staging, and prepping steel structures for blasting, painting, and shipping.
Key responsibilities:
Mask, sand and touch up paint on industrial steel structures.
Capable of using a forklift, Skytrak, and crane.
Read and understand technical documents including blueprints.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet customer needs and deadlines with minimal guidance.
Strive to minimize rework and continually improve quality level.
Meet company productivity rates and learn all aspects of job as required.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area including the yard.
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repairs.
Follows all company safety rules and policies.
Other job-related duties as assigned by Shop Foreman or Management.
Physical fitness – must be able to hear coworkers, see up close and far away, perceive color and depth, and have the ability to focus. May be required to stand or walk on uneven ground and ascend and descend ladders and scaffolding and work in confined spaces, all of which requires stamina and endurance.
Interpersonal skills – the ability to clearly, professionally, and effectively communicate with management, shop foreman and coworkers.
